What is the significance of measuring the actual viscosity of engine fuel?

1) As an indicator of the tendency of engine fuel to generate gum during use. Usually, the higher the actual gum content of engine fuel, the greater the amount of sediment formed during use in the engine. Method Summary

The known amount of sample is evaporated under the condition of controlled temperature, air or steam flow. Select the corresponding operating conditions of motor gasoline or aviation fuel according to the data provided in the above figure.
